During the meeting, Mr. Amar Nayak expressed his sympathy for the damage Vietnam had suffered after Typhoon No. 3 (Yagi). He mentioned that after receiving reports and proposals from the ActionAid International Vietnam Office (AAV), AAI had quickly decided to allocate funds and send experts to Vietnam to provide direct assistance. This reflects ActionAid's strong commitment to supporting the recovery and rebuilding efforts following the typhoon.

Mr. Nguyễn Ngọc Hùng emphasized the importance of equipping communities, especially students, with disaster prevention knowledge and skills. He suggested that AAI, AAV, and donor partners continue to focus on and support Vietnam in this area through the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, the People's Aid Coordination Committee (PACCOM - a unit under the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations), and related mechanisms.
Currently, AAI is involved in supporting 33 emergency situations worldwide, with Typhoon Yagi categorized as an orange alert - a high-level emergency. Along with the team of international experts, AAV has swiftly coordinated with local authorities and relevant agencies to implement the Community Recovery Support Project in the provinces of Quảng Ninh, Hà Nội, and Yên Bái - areas severely affected by Typhoon No. 3.
Through PACCOM, AAV is assisting at least 5 households in Bát Xát district, Lào Cai province, to repair homes damaged by the storm and flooding.
