Who we are & what we do

A Small Act for the Planet (ASAP) is an innovative e-learning platform dedicated to fostering environmental education and empowering future leaders to take action for a sustainable planet.

ASEAN youth (30% of the population, ~682 million) face climate change impacts from unsustainable growth, inheriting the consequences of inaction. Their leadership on sustainability lacks capacity, resources, support, recognition, and access to policy platforms. A 2021 UNICEF survey revealed a digital literacy gap: 44-47% of ASEAN youth see it as crucial but lack skills.

ASAP e-learning platform addresses these challenges through courses tailored to the needs of ASEAN Member States. Its curriculum equips youth with knowledge, skills, and tools for climate and environmental action while enhancing digital literacy to prepare them for a rapidly transforming world.

Managed by ActionAid, a global federation committed to a world free from poverty and injustice, ASAP embodies the organization’s mission to drive social, economic, and environmental justice.

We believe in the power of people. If we can support people to know, claim, and defend their rights, the world will be a fairer place. For more information on ActionAid, please visit the ActionAid Website

This platform is developed with the support of the Aid for Social Protection Program Foundation Vietnam (AFV), established in 2016 with approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs. AFV supports vulnerable groups—including women, people with disabilities, children, and the disadvantaged—in over 10 provinces and cities across Vietnam, helping them cope with natural disasters, climate change, and other social issues, including community healthcare. As a strategic partner of ActionAid Vietnam, AFV's collaboration enables this platform to further its mission. For more information, visit AFV Website

The ASAP platform offers engaging and interactive courses on critical environmental topics, such as climate change, renewable energy, waste management, and biodiversity conservation. By integrating cutting-edge technology with expert-driven content, it inspires learners to tackle real-world challenges through virtual simulations, and interactive quizzes.

The ASAP training courses empower young people to lead climate justice initiatives, engage with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and practice responsible digital citizenship. By addressing the unequal impacts of climate change on vulnerable communities, fostering meaningful SDG engagement, and emphasizing responsible digital practices, ASAP equips youth to navigate the complexities of the digital age. This innovative initiative prepares the next generation of leaders to champion sustainable practices and drive innovative solutions to global challenges.

Action for

Global Justice

in a Volatile World

ActionAid’s 3rd strategy implementation framework (2025-2028)
1

Working for system change

We will transform our partnerships and approaches to maximise our ability to deliver on system change.
2

Thematic priorities

We will deepen our work with movements on system change across all our thematic priorities and will focus on maximising connections between these threads.
3

Sustainable federation through resourcing and fair distribution

We will increase institutional funding, make strategic collective investments in regular giving for long-term sustainability and independence, and update our system for allocating resources across the federation in a fair and transparent manner.
4

Delivering our vision

We will harmonise every function across the federation to support the move to decolonise and work on system change with social movements.

Collaborators:

A Small Act for the Planet (ASAP) e-learning platform is developed under the framework of the Partnership for Climate Action and Environmental Protection (P2ACE) project and is funded by ActionAid through the Transformative Impact Fund (TIF) mechanism.

The Transformative Impact Fund seeks to catalyze a significant step-change in ActionAid’s impact by:

  • “Increased programme impact, delivering greater tangible change for rights-holders, and scaling change through better evidence and more effective advocacy.”
  • “Integration of community work with systematic organizing, movement-building and public engagement to link local rights-holders to wider constituencies nationally and globally.”
