This training course is designed to empower young people to become active leaders and advocates in the global movement for climate justice. The course provides participants with the knowledge, skills, and tools to understand and address the unequal impacts of climate change on vulnerable communities, and to take tangible actions toward a more equitable and sustainable world.

This course will provide you with:

Knowledge: Presentations, figures and research issues on key topics.

Networking and mentorship opportunities: access to experienced mentors and a network of like-minded youth and organizations.

Funding and Partnership Opportunities: a list of resources available to help fund and support youth-led projects, initiatives and advocacy efforts.

Cultivate Practical Skills for Climate Action.

Foster Collaboration and Networking for Collective Impact.

Training sessions

Activities and Exercises

Organize group discussions and exercises to explore how climate change disproportionately affects communities.

Identify areas vulnerable to climate change and develop risk maps to reveal the correlation between local, regional, and global levels.

Study successful youth-led climate justice projects and discuss the factors behind their success.

Each participant will develop an action plan, outlining the steps to create change in their community.

Participants exchange feedback with one another, work together to refine their plans, and develop a collaboration strategy.

Small projects enable participants to directly address climate justice issues in their communities, while learning from real-life experience.

Review and reflections

To assess learners' understanding, the course includes the following assessment:

Final Assessment: A comprehensive test with multiple-choice questions to assess understanding and application of course content.

Certification: Learners who complete all quizzes, will receive a certificate upon passing the final assessment.

Reflections: Upon completion of the course, learners are required to submit a reflection, which may include comments and questions.

Background: No specific background is required, though learners with an interest in environmental science, social justice, human rights, or community development will find the content relevant.

Commitment: Learners should be committed to completing the course and actively participating in discussions, activities, and project planning

Certificate requirements

The conditions for receiving the course certificate include:

Completion of all sessions in the program.

Obtain a minimum score of 6/10 in the final assessment.
