Catalysts for Change: Youth and Climate Justice
This training course is designed to empower young people to become active leaders and advocates in the global movement for climate justice. The course provides participants with the knowledge, skills, and tools to understand and address the unequal impacts of climate change on vulnerable communities, and to take tangible actions toward a more equitable and sustainable world.
This course will provide you with:
Presentations, infographics, case studies on key topics
Mentorship and networking opportunities: access to experienced mentors and a network of like-minded youth and organizations.
Funding and partnership opportunities: a curated list of resources to help fund and support youth-led projects, initiatives, and advocacy efforts.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Develop a Foundational Understanding of Climate Justice.
Cultivate Practical Skills for Climate Action.
Foster Collaboration and Networking for Collective Impact.
Group discussions and exercises exploring how climate change disproportionately impacts different communities.
Mapping climate vulnerabilities in participants' local areas to understand regional and global connections.
In-depth exploration of successful youth-led climate justice projects, followed by discussions on key factors that led to their success.
Participants will create their own climate justice action plans, outlining the steps they can take to create change in their communities.
Peer feedback and collaborative refinement of ideas and strategies.
Collaborative mini-projects that allow participants to address a local climate justice issue in their community, fostering hands-on experience in grassroots activism.
To assess learners' understanding, the course includes the following assessment:
Final Assessment: A comprehensive test with multiple-choice questions to assess understanding and application of course content.
Certification: Learners who complete all quizzes, will receive a certificate upon passing the final assessment.
Reflections: Upon completion of the course, learners are required to submit a reflection, which may include comments and questions.

Age range: Young people, generally aged 15–35 years, who are passionate about environmental issues, social justice, and sustainable development.
Background: No specific background is required, though learners with an interest in environmental science, social justice, human rights, or community development will find the content relevant.
Commitment: Learners should be committed to completing the course and actively participating in discussions, activities, and project planning
